The sensational DB11 Volante is the drop-top model of the DB11. Did you know that it was named after a horse? Like a thoroughbred racehorse, this model oozes charm, elegance and breathtaking speed. Drive a car that reflects your high-end lifestyle. The DB11 Volante will not disappoint.

The Exterior
Walk around this luxury GT convertible and admire the long, low spear shape. The canvas hood is designed in 8 layers to eliminate noise and folds up neatly into the back in 14 seconds. Slanting slim LED headlamps create the look of a stealthy panther stalking its prey. Notice the familiar Aston Martin grille that blends into the front fascia. The car sits on 20-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels, ready to burn up the blacktop.

The Interior
Slip behind the wheel and enjoy the feeling of a luxurious cabin, finished in classy style. The Volante DB11 is a 4-seater, but in reality, only small children will fit comfortably in the back. Sitting in front, however, is exceptionally grand. The signature ‘brogueing’ pattern looks ultra-chic. Ornamental stitching loops around the dash and doors. The headrests rise out from the seats and look so inviting. For the driver, there is a screen display for control of the main functions. Both the seat and the steering wheel are electrically adjustable. The seat offers lumbar and side bolsters for the best driving position. Want to drive top-down in cooler weather? Raise the four side windows to suppress the high-speed wind and heat up your seats to keep off the chill.

For luggage, the boot has a pop-down compartment into which the roof folds. When the roof is up, it collapses to make more space. Keep your luggage to a minimum, you may have to use the back seats for storage.

The Drive
The stupendous performance of the DB11 Volante comes from a Mercedes-AMG-sourced, twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. If you prefer, you can use the steering wheel-mounted paddles to change gear manually. Headline numbers are 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 and top speeds of 300km/h. The drive is breathtakingly fast and responsive with hardly any lag. Even with the roof down, the body remains rigid and the steering and ride don’t change. With the roof up, it feels much like the coupé model, with minimal noise.

You sit low in the cabin with a relatively high dashboard, ideal for the open road. To manoeuvre around tight spaces and kerbs in the city you have front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree parking camera. Get out of the city, hit the open road, drop the top and feel the adrenaline rush.
